Originally, from the Gulf Coast of Alabama, I have lived in Virginia, Georgia, New Hampshire and New Jersey. After leaving the corporate world to start a family, I moved to Maine with my husband Dave in 2001. I was previously employed by Polo Ralph Lauren, and held numerous jobs within the organization: Operations Manager for New Store Openings, District Manger for multiple districts from Puerto Rico to New York, Store Manager, and Special Projects Manager. I have been a stay at home mother to three wonderfully spirited little boys for the past 8 years.
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I bought my first 35mm SLR camera over 20 years ago. It brought out creativity in me that I never knew I possessed. What started out as a passionate hobby turned into a rewarding and fulfilling job. I started JB Photography after years of doing free work! That is right, free work. For many years, I remained busy and my creativity fulfilled by doing only referrals.
I am now available to do your family photography.
I use both film and digital equipment when shooting a full session. My photo sessions are relaxed and never forced. When shooting a photo session, I look at each participant as an individual, taking care to notice personalities and unique qualities. Candid shots are my favorites and are always included in my work. I prefer to use only natural light when photographing children but if the situation is not right I will resort to using artificial lighting. Although I feel that my photography has a specific feel, I love to be adventurous and explore new techniques; if you have an idea, I am ready to make it happen.
