Sports! Who doesn't love being part of a team. I love to watch my boys play sports. Their passion, dedication, drive and enthusiasm for sports and being a part of a team makes my heart sing. If you are ever looking for us you can pretty much find us at a sports field of some sort. Being that sports are such a big part of our lives, I decided to share some of my favorites from last year. The old guy is in fact my husband. Yes, he is a lacrosse player, too. I should add that I am in NO way a Sports Photographer - just a Mama with a camera trying to document my boy's fleeting sports moments. Oh, I dread when these days are over. Enjoy! johnna brooke photography | personal sports photography | greater portland, maine photographer

I always think I am going to have time to do everything that I want to do and everything that I actually need to do. Yes, I am an optimist, but reality is that I don't have much time at all between work, boys, house, health and hobbies! I have been meaning to share with my fans some personal photos from the last couple of months and today I am going to do just that. These photos are of my boys and our crazy busy world. Most of the photos below were not taken with my "good" cameras; just a good ole' iPhone. They say the best camera is the one that you have with you and my iPhone is always in tow. Enjoy my friends and check back, as I promise to get some new sessions up on the blog very soon. johnna brooke photography | Greater Portland Family Photography
I recently snapped some photos for a friend at her daughter's Bat Mitzvah. It was an amazing day and I feel so honored that I was asked to capture this very special moment in time!
It has been awhile since I have captured my children how I really see them. All three of them together, laughing and cutting up with one another. Sure they fight, sure they drive me nuts, sure they are messy little boys but I would not have it any other way. When I capture photos like these all the nonsense and chaos of our lives leave and I am left with memories of all of our beautiful fleeting moments together. I love when I snap a photo that truly reflects reality. My reality? - These happy, crazy, wild, funny, precious boys. They give me so very much joy! I feel blessed. I am gearing up for a couple of photo shoots this week and it is my hope that I capture my clients very own realities! I promise to give a preview; stay tuned. Last week was a transition week for me. In between wrapping up my old job and starting my new job, I had some time to snap a couple of personal photos! Of course we were at our two favorite places in the world…1) Peaks Island 2) Any Lacrosse Field. This is where my love of photography began; documenting my children! Enjoy. I am Back! | Portland, Maine Photographer | Small Business Guru | I Have Something to SAY!6/13/2013 It has been a long time since I have sat down and blogged about my business, or personal life for that matter. Well, you see, I took a year off to try on the corporate hat for the 2nd time. Although I enjoyed the last year immensely, I am really looking forward to getting Johnna Brooke back up and running. I know that I have let a lot of my past clients down during the past year — but hope that you will let me make it up to you. With my new flexible "real" job I will now have a better work/life balance and plan on doing what I love: spending more time with my family, helping out small businesses with all their branding and web presence needs and creating and documenting memories for old and new clients! I have lots to say and hope to be able to integrate both my personal and professional life into one seamless enjoyable blog! You want to talk Mommy Wars? I have opinions…from both sides. Want to talk business? I can do that, too! In fact, with my past year experience of working for an upscale retailer, I have a lot to say about building brand loyalty. Want to talk about social media marketing? Follow me, I am ready to swing the bat and shoot for the fence! Just to get you excited about what is to come, check out some work that I did this past year while juggling 3 very wild and busy little boys and one extremely time consuming traveling J-O-B! Oh and I did keep my toilets clean! Ok, they were only clean when I knew I was having visitors! Enjoy your preview of what's to come……. I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. I try very hard to get out and explore my little corner of the world with my children as often as I can. All of my boys love being outside, but my middle son is in love and obsessed with nature and going on hikes. He has such a big imagination and really loves to explore. I am always amazed at what we discover during our jaunts. This week was vacation week and we managed several hiking outings in our hood. We heard a fox, saw a weasel on the beach, counted birds, looked for animal footprints, picked up drift wood, collected sea glass, blew milk weed pods, and totally took advantage of the crisp fresh air and near 50 degree temperatures. We also hit some playgrounds and my oldest son played lacrosse everyday! Yes, we were busy. We loved being outside. And, I loved hanging with my boys in our hood. Peace - johnna brooke Ft.
